Blast from the Past

Sooooo, today got totally crazy as did yesterday and I didn't have anytime to craft.  I'm completely exhausted and thinking about going to bed early tonight but I knew I was due for my Sunshine post.. what to do?  I decided to go back and pull out some of my favorite Sunshine Stamps cards- especially for those of you who are new to my blog or Sunshine Stamps.  I have midterms due this week and I am hoping to get a new card up in the next few days highlighting another sentiment but until then...

Some oldies but goodies:

with the holidays on their way the above CD holder and the below gift card holder would be perfect to add to stockings

The below is one of my favorites just because I love the idea that there are plenty of fish in the sea!

With the current state of my day/week I felt this card was perfect today!

And last, but not least- my Buckeyes are doing awesome and going to the Rose Bowl!  So, here is a recent card in honor of them!

You can shop for all images at Sunshine Stamps (click the banner to the right).  Make sure you check out all of the DT blogs to see what they are doing with the Christmas images and sentiments and I'll be back later this week with a new Sunshine card.

A Unity Christmas

For this card I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge and the EIC62 challenge.  The EIC shop this week was Quiltish from Alissa Jacobs.  I chose THIS piece as my inspiration- these Christmas Trees from Unity were perfect for it.

A Small Daily Difference

Last weekend I was in my LSS and I saw this cool product- all week I thought about it and when Sunshine said she wanted our projects this week to focus on the sentiment I decided to go ahead and do this type of project.  However, first, I got the bright idea to search and try to make my own- I found lots of resources for it BUT I couldn't get it to work-everything kept smearing.  Then, yesterday I was talking to my mom as I left school and I had pretty much decided NOT to go back to the LSS and get this product, well, the next thing I knew I parked right in front of my LSS!  So, since I was there I decided to go on in and get it.  By now you are thinking- WHAT in the world is this product?  It's Grafix Rub-Onz Transfer Film to make your own rub-ons!  It was a WHOLE lot easier than trying to make my own.

Enough of the saga- here's the project.  This was super easy.  I bought a piece of plain wood (that you find at any craft store- I got mine at JoAnn's), painted it with acrylic paint and let it dry.  Then, I printed the sentiment out on the printer and followed the steps on the film package, added a few pearls and I was done :)

I decided to make it bright and cheery because this quote reminds me of my daily journeys and just seeing the yellow sitting up somewhere or hanging on a wall will definitely brighten my day!

Waving Snowman and Warm Winter Wishes

I used Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge from 11/3/09 to create this card.  I decided to use ribbon as my strip across rather than paper and I just happened to have 3 snowflake brads.  This cute little snowman is from Sunshine Stamps and was just released this past weekend.  I planned on using my white craft ink with the sentiment but couldn't find it and since I wanted to get this post up on my blog I went with silver.  Then the whole sentiment didn't show up so I tried to "embellish" it with a Sakura Stardust pen.

Don't forget to see THIS POST for how you can win some blog candy.  I originally planned on "closing" it last weekend but am going to hold out until this weekend.  So, get any quotes and such to me by Saturday to be considered!!!

Merry Christmas Stocking

Here's one of the BRAND NEW images from Sunshine Stamps.  Sunshine has released a series of Christmas/Winter images that are just so much fun to color!  There's a Christmas candle and ornament set, this stocking, a GORGEOUS vintage looking Season's Greetings bow and holly, and several others.  AND, there have been new sentiments added- you can see them HERE.  I sent the first two rows of quotes to Sunshine and put them into images.  PLEASE see THIS POST to find out how YOUR favorite quotes/verses can be made into images.  I am going to extend this for another week to try to drum up some quotes- tell your friends- post it on your blog- spread the word!  Now, for the card!  I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge 105.  I LOVE this sketch- perfect for showing off that patterned paper!

Guess What's Coming???

This Saturday is a blog hop featuring Christmas/winter/seasonal images from: Sunshine Stamps, Ildi Co., and The Stamping Boutique.  PLUS, to top it off, Tracey from The Stamping Boutique has a fabulous prize to give away.... I heard a rumor that it's a copic set!  How cool is that!?  Now, on that note- I will be posting some cards on Saturday with Sunshine's seasonal images but I will NOT be part of the "official" hop.  However, my blog candy in THIS POST is still open! I'm just going to tell you all- I sent 9 quotes in to Sunshine and I got them ALL back in my email this week and they are FABULOUS!!!  Great fonts, perfect details, LOVE them!  I'll be playing with them in various forms throughout the next few weeks!  They will be available (or should be available) THIS weekend!  I need more ideas ladies- quotes, Bible verses, you name it.  Maybe a reminder about the candy is what is needed so here goes:

Candy #1- 1-15 posts
This will be a pile of variety of dsp from SU to BG to anything in between, along with some buttons and ribbons.

Candy #2- 16-30 posts
This will be ribbon, embellishments, a few stamps, dsp, alterables, and three Sunshine Stamps images of your choice (my treat)

Candy #3- 31+ posts
This will be for a $15 gift certificate to the craft/stamp place of your choice.  It can be online or it can be a brick and mortar store such as M's, JA's, HL, or ACMoore (no Archivers here though).

I'll even make an exception and let you post on this post also if that helps (and I'll combine the posts between the two days).  Please pass the word along- the more peeps that enter the bigger the prizes.  There could be up to 3 winners!
