Short and Sweet and to the Point- Final Blog Candy (for now)

First, number chosen by random.org was......  #1 (Chrissy).  YAY!  Now for a surprise, I decided to do a second one also- this one was .... #5 (Janice).  Janice, you won a nip tacky tape (red) and an egg full of primas, dew drops, and ribbon (if that sounds good to you) and another surprise which I'll contact you about.

Now- the big candy.  I have thought and thought about this and here's what I have decided.  You will have the CHOICE of: $15 product at Limelight (your choice), $15 gift certificate to ATS, Stampin' Bella, Unity, or any other stamping company of your choice (not SU) that does online gift certificates.  If you choose the LL product I will go ahead and order it (I have stuff I want/need from there anyway).  Since it's a bit bigger I'll leave this up until Friday night 4/2/09 around 9 p.m. EST.  What do you have to do to be entered into this candy?

1. Leave me a comment.  I JUST got the Top Note die from SU.  I want to see your favorite card (yours or someone else's) that uses this die!  This is a MUST.  I really want to see these cards!  If you haven't seen them- check out the Splitcoast gallery and link them up (and show them love in the gallery too).

2. IF you have a blog- link this up and let me know in a separate comment and you'll get a second entry- if you don't have a blog- let someone know about it and then let me know in a separate comment (this can be on SCS, PCP, in an email, etc.)

3. I'm going to work VERY hard to have a post with a card daily this week- now that things are back to a routine at school I feel like I should be able to do this.  Leave a comment on posts throughout the week and on Friday night at 9 P.M. EST I'll print them all out and draw one out of the hat.  And, you never know- I may have another surprise.  I want all comments on the cards- if you see something you think would look better- let me know, I'll try it!

So, does that sound good?  I hope so- pass the word along to your friends!

Travel Snacks (Blog Candy)

Well, today was my blogaversary.  Hard to believe I've been doing this for 2 years!  I have several things up my sleeve for this next week.  Each post with candy will give you two days to give me an answer.  As I type this Ohio State is playing vs. Siena in round 1 of the NCAA March Madness.  So, for today (and this will go through Sunday p.m. when I'll draw and post number 2) I want you to tell me who you are rooting for (and if your team is already gone- then tell me who you were rooting for).  I meant to post this earlier but since I came home from IN I have had some sinus issues/spring allergies so it's been fun.

What are you playing for today?  Well, the first candy will be simple but keep checking back because they will get a bit bigger.  Today is white liquid applique and a clear Autumn Leaves stamp that says Prepare to be Amazed.  I will work on getting a pic up tomorrow morning.

Another Christmas project and a little game with prize

This was another project that I did for Christmas. It was for my brother in law. I like to stump him and make it fun for him and myself. I did it this year! Here is a picture of the project. Your "job" is to tell me what you think the present is and how you think I got the present in there! I will wait until Friday morning (1/4) at 9:00 to make the pick. You don't *have* to get it right- I'll print it out and draw out of a hat. However, the first person to get it right will also get a little surprise. And, you need to be thorough in your explanation. I am excited to see your answers.

Oh, I suppose you want to know what your are "playing for". Well, I have three copies of the same magazine. I bought one at the store, then a day or two later I got mine in the mail (I didn't think my subscription had been processed yet) and then a secret sister gave me one for Christmas. So, since I don't need three copies of the same magazine (PaperCrafts Dec. 07/Jan. 08) the winner gets one. I also went shopping at Target today and got five packages of the snowflake ornaments that Gina K. featured on her blog a while ago. I have 4 white and 1 silver. You will get your pick of one or you can have 2 white and 2 silver (you will let me know when you win). I will come up with a few more goodies this week too and I will edit this to reflect that. Thanks for playing and can't wait to read your answers

Travel Snack time is over tonight

Time is running out so if you need any bella images (or, if you would rather have MFT images) please comment on the post below this one. I am babysitting tonight so the time may not be right at 10- it depends on if I can get on the computer after they go to bed. However, the comments are time-stamped so it will be 10 pm cutoff for commenting. Nancy- you won the RAK so email me at zephan3.17@juno.com with your mailing address and I'll get that in the mail to you!

first post from my new computer

I am making my first post from my new computer! The place where I purchased it from doesn't automatically place the modem in the computer so I couldn't access the internet for a few days because my wireless isn't connected yet. So, I went and purchased an external modem (a little more expensive than internal but way easier for me to hook up)and am good to go for now! We'll see how fast it uploads my pic and see if it makes any difference being on this computer compared to my laptop from school. They are both dial-up so there may not be difference.

Anyway, this card was made for a specific person and I'm pretty sure that she doesn't read my blog so I'll go ahead and mention her. It's Michelle Giraud (aka flaxychick). Over on the MFT member company forum Kim was doing a "contest" of sorts. The DT for MFT created a bunch of cards to be auctioned off on ebay for the Think Pink promotion/providing funding for Breast Cancer Research. Kim asked people to place a guess of what the final bid would be. Michelle was actually the closest but she told Kim to pay it forward to me! I was so honored to be a part of a community that has members who do things like this. I was able to pick a stamp set from a set group. I'm really looking forward to playing with my new stamps.

So, in the spirit of Paying it Forward I would like to put this challenge/travel snack out there. I'm going to pay forward 5 stamped images of each of my bellas (PMSabella and Clickabella as well as Globerottabella-not new but hasn't been used yet). I also have javabella, teachabella, and barbella. That would 30 stamped images (I also have sentiments to go along with a couple of them). I will also send a RAK to the first person who posts. I will use a random generator (aka drawing names out of a hat) for the bella images and a surprise on Friday, November 9 around 10 pm. Then, if you have a blog I would like to challenge you to pay it forward! By the way, the RAK will not have been made by me- it was made for me to specifically use to RAK others!

Details on the card:
Stamps: True Friend, PaperTray by PaperTrey Ink
Paper: Cool Caribbean, Real Red, White, Basic Black
Ink: Real Red, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Clear Stardust Pen, cuttlebug (rak'd from someone)
I also used the DTP technique on the edges to distress it a bit. I also used one of Julie's Mojo Monday sketches- I'll come back and edit the post for the correct one.

Happy World CardMaking Day and Think Pink

Today is World CardMaking Day and I'm hoping (NO, I WILL) to get some time this afternoon and evening to create. I have some swaps that are coming up on being due so I need to get those going and I have some other projects that I want to work on. I received my first Paper Pretties box a week and a half ago and I have yet to play with. I also completed an order for two of the MFT stamp sets that just came out and yesterday I placed an order for a couple of bellas and sentiments (couldn't pass up the no shipping charge deal).

In honor of WCMD I am having some travel snacks- actually 2 travel snacks. I am having a "Think Pink" candy (pink ribbon, pink buttons, pink primas, and anything else I can find that's pink). I'm also offering another snack that includes a couple of the clear stamp sets and some other odds and ends (I found some great things to include in my varous shopping endeavors= they are just not all together so I have to gather them). Hmm... what should I have you do- just comment and let me know if you are planning any projects for Christmas gift- you will get an extra chance for linking me to a sample or tutorial of that project! Can't wait to see what you all will be doing!

Almost forgot the final detail- this will close Tuesday at 9:00 (I have a PTA meeting at school and will draw when I get home). Enjoy your day!

Time for some Travel Snacks!

Okay- the time has come! You have listened to me ramble on and on about my trip. I had a productive evening yesterday (got my bookcase packed up) and this morning I got my Kindergarten classroom moved down to my new 1st grade classroom. I did some shopping today and got some happy mail. I also scored some great deals in Target's clearance section and with their "college" section. At Target in Indiana this week I found a great rug for my kitchen and it has turquoise in it which is one of my all time fave colors so I have decided to go with that color for my kitchen- well, Target's college line has turq./teal as one of the colors. Let's see- I didn't end up buying anything at JoAnn's but I did got to Michael's where I got some really fun ribbon (which I'm not sharing - at least not right now).

Here's the deal: Right now I have two sets of Travel Snacks. They are both a bit different- one is scrapbooking oriented (but can be used on cards) and the other is stamping oriented. They both include a candy bar from Romania. I will post pictures but here's the deal. For every 10 comments something extra goes into each pile. Remember I am moving and have a lot of unopened stuff just lying around here. I just keep thinking- surely someone can use it. Today is Friday so I will leave this open until Wednesday, July 11 at 10:00 pm. So, share this on your blogs, with your friends, etc., because the more people comment the more stuff there will be. So, here's what I want you to comment on- I have seen on several blogs lately where they want to hear fave movie lines- mine will be a twist on that. What do you like when you are creating? Absolute quiet, the tv going (with what show/movie), music blaring (what music)? To be eligible you MUST answer this question. Consider it an informal poll and I'll post the results next week too. The other thing is that I must have a way to contact you- if you don't have a blog where I could post a comment- leave your splitcoast name. If you are a subscriber you won't have to do this because you will get the update automatically. So, if you don't leave a way to contact you please make sure you bookmark and check back (which is how I do it- then I move those blogs to another folder and check them periodically). I will post a pic of the two travel snacks tonight (just as they start out- the extras will be a surprise). Have a great day!

ETA: These pictures took forever to attach. The first is the scrapbook "stuff", the second is the card "stuff", and the third is a surprise bag. All those who have subscribe (or do subscribe) will get a chance for this bag filled with all kinds of fun goodies!.

On the scrapbook candy we have 8 1/2 x 11 paper, an 8 x 8 scrapbook, some stickers that I bought two of, 2 Hobby Lobby idea magazines, some travel die cuts, favor boxes, and the Romanian candy.

On the card candy we have baby wipes (for the baby wipe technique), a pack of 8 coasters (to alter using the SCS tutorials), the favor boxes, a small silver ink pad, the badge holders (for the recent tutorial on scs), some bic pens (for maing beaded pens), a small composition notebook, brads, round flat marbles, and Romanian candy.

The bag- it remains a surprise!

Remember- these are just the starting points- for every 10 comments more "stuff" goes in (I have a whole pile already ready to go!). Thanks for stopping by!
