Another Christmas project and a little game with prize

This was another project that I did for Christmas. It was for my brother in law. I like to stump him and make it fun for him and myself. I did it this year! Here is a picture of the project. Your "job" is to tell me what you think the present is and how you think I got the present in there! I will wait until Friday morning (1/4) at 9:00 to make the pick. You don't *have* to get it right- I'll print it out and draw out of a hat. However, the first person to get it right will also get a little surprise. And, you need to be thorough in your explanation. I am excited to see your answers.

Oh, I suppose you want to know what your are "playing for". Well, I have three copies of the same magazine. I bought one at the store, then a day or two later I got mine in the mail (I didn't think my subscription had been processed yet) and then a secret sister gave me one for Christmas. So, since I don't need three copies of the same magazine (PaperCrafts Dec. 07/Jan. 08) the winner gets one. I also went shopping at Target today and got five packages of the snowflake ornaments that Gina K. featured on her blog a while ago. I have 4 white and 1 silver. You will get your pick of one or you can have 2 white and 2 silver (you will let me know when you win). I will come up with a few more goodies this week too and I will edit this to reflect that. Thanks for playing and can't wait to read your answers

Oooh, how great!!! Hmmm, I think you split it open in the middle and put in a tool of some sort, like maybe an electric screwdriver.

I think it is a tool of some sort. You cut the bottle open, put the gift in and then sealed it shut with crystal effects. Great idea - I'll have to remember this for next year.

You cut a slit in the back of the bottle (maybe using something like an exacto knife) and stuffed the stuff in that way, then covered it up with paper. I think there is a wrench, some nails and a ruler in there.

Hmmm.... I'm guessing the bottle was cut in half, which is hidden by the paper.
There looks like some kind of cloth in there - but maybe that is wrapping paper.
I'm guessing from the tool theme that it is something to do with tools - maybe screwdrivers, nails - stuff like that.
I have no idea how you got the bottle back together. Then again, maybe it was something like screwdrivers and such that you could push through the top.
All I know is I want to know what you did :-)
Very cute project!

Which Target did you get the ornaments at? I loved the ones on Gina's blog.

Since your stamping indicates a tool of some sort, I'm guessing that you 'morphed' a large double-handled plyers or wrench of some sort into the bottle. I can't image that he didn't tear the paper off to see how you managed to get it in there because a slit or cut in the bottle would give it away. Sounded like a fun activity! Now, I'm very anxious to hear what it was and how you did it!

Hmmm....You're sure creative!! I think you cut through the middle of the bottle, put the gift inside (tools of some sort?) and then fixed your own creative label to the bottle! Be sure to let us know what you really did!! ;)

Hmm, I think its tools of some kind..and I think you cut the bottle thru the middle, stuffed your gift inside and hit the seam with your label, (of course using some kind of glue to seal it)

My question is, how will he take the gift out????

Awesome idea tho...do let us know what it is..I'd love to stump someone with something like this.

Happy New Year. What a creative idea for a gift and a creative idea question for your readers. Ok I'm in on the giveaway!
You used an exacto knife to cut an opening on the bottle.
You added a gift card, or maybe a small tool set.
You covered the opening and decorated all pretty.
Thanks for a chance.

Cute idea, I've seen it done where they slit the side with a knife and cover the slit with the paper. Is that how you did it?

What a cute idea! I think it's tools... and I think you probably got it in there by splitting it in half and then taping it back together. Thanks for the idea.

Hi there, thanks for hosting this fun game. I think you BIL got many things. You probably cut the bottle in half and no one would know the difference since you covered it up with paper. A hammer, nails, plugs, bolts, nuts and screws, because it looks lumpy. Any creator, wood or paper, never has enough of the bits.

Thanks, Bela

I am thinking it is a pair of boxers (what else besides candy would fit in there?)
Ok... to put it in the bottle, cut a slit down the side of the bottle. Put the gift inside, hotglue the hole back together and then cover it with Cardstock and decorate... Very nice job! I hope he liked it!!!

I would have liked to have seen his face. I think You've got some tools inside by cutting open the bottle and covering it with your label. I've seen girls mail these. I've always wanted to try it.
happy New Year!!!

I'm guessing that you put a set of screwdrivers by slitting open the back of the bottle and then covering the hole with your label. Cool idea. I've seen it done when people send teddy bears in the mail.
