I'm so frustrated!
I'm frustrated with school- I love teaching however, I'm so tired of working the long hours!. I am at school by 6:30 every morning- with my students from 7:30-3:00 and I'm "allowed" to leave at 3:15. Ummm... hasn't happened yet this year- the earliest was 3:30 and that was the weekend I went out of town. I have a life in the evenings- or attempt to anyway. I have church on Wednesday nights and most other nights I have something going on. However, something is going to have to give or I'm going to lose my sanity. I spent 4 hours grading papers yesterday and entering them into the gradebook (on the computer) and another 2 hours working on some things for lessons this week and guess what? I'm still not done with either set of things! I ended crying myself to sleep last night because I'm so tired of it all. I feel like all I do is work and even though I attempt to have a life there are weeks when I leave school at 5 and then come home= just to do more work. I know one of my areas I need to work on is time management but I'm not that bad with it. I usually use my time wisely (not always but usually). Please help! I'm open to any advice- bring it on!!!! How do you manage your time- how do you balance your time between all that life throws at you (and I don't even have a family to take care of)? I already know I'll be making some changes at school but any advice you can give that might work would be awesome.
Okay, question number 2- if I wanted to search blogger for teaching blogs how would I do that?
And finally, a card- this is also from last weekend's creations- I'm about out of them because I've shared most of them- I'll be working on creating a few more this week- hopefully- if not, then this weekend (although Saturday morning I have to be at school).

Hi Tami :-)
I'm sorry things are crazy. I COMPLETELY understand! My husband is a teacher and it seems that at this time of year ESPECIALLY - things are just crazy. I could relate to you so much because it is exactly how my husband feels! Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an easy fix as we ourselves are going every single night of the week and don't even seem to sit down until after 9:00. We live between September and November waiting for the start of vacations!
As far as looking for teacher blogs - I would suggest just going to google.com and doing a search for teaching blogs. Then, when you find a few, pay attention to the links they have on their blogs and you may find even more blogs.
One thing I might suggest to you. Schedule yourself time to just do something for yourself - NOT including work :-) Even if it's just 15 minutes a day to sit and drink a cup of tea or coffee and just be quiet - just something. Maybe 15 minutes of a walk in a quiet park. Just a little something for you.
Anyway - this has been a long comment! I will be praying for you! The ULTIMATE answer is HIM - and I know you know that already :-) The verse that comes to mind - and I'm speaking to myself here to - is to BE STILL AND KNOW I AM GOD :-)
Take care Tami-
Hi Tami,
That does sound like a rough schedule. My son's school has a unique approach - job sharing. He has two teachers - one in the morning and one in the afternoon. They are both finishing their Masters, so they just split the job right down the middle. Seems to work out very nicely, but of course I'm sure they adjust the pay accordingly too.
Rather than looking for a blog, might I suggest an on-line teacher support group. I have one for Stampin' Up! and it's a real sanity saver. Go to Yahoo Groups or MSN Groups and search on Teachers.
Big hugs to you.
You know that I am not a teacher but I spend time helping at school. I was amazed yesterday when I helped in my daughter's classroom (my first time this year with her whole class).
Thank you for the difference you are making with our children!
I agree with the other Tami:), take a few minutes out of the day for YOU, I think this will help alot.
God Bless you Tami!
Malieta:)
