Are you Serious????

This is a duplicate of a post I made at SCS- I just copied and pasted because I didn't want to have to retype. Let's just say yesterday wasn't too great!

This was not a good week! Let me amend that a bit- the beginning of the week was great- my parents came down to visit from Indiana last Sunday and they left Wednesday. It's the first time they have been able to come to visit for about 2 1/2 years. Then Thursday I didn't feel well, Friday, diagnosed with strep then last night I was trying to do laundry. I'm supposed to be moving on Thursday (and of course I haven't felt well enough to pack) and wanted to do all my laundry so I didn't have to worry about it until after I moved. It would give my washer time to drain and dry out. I left the room (my washer and dryer are in a closet in the kitchen) and when I went back I had water all over my floor. No big deal I thought- although it was a lot of water- I had some towels in the w.m. and it got off balance so I took some out and put them in the hamper (wet towels with holes) so I figured that was the problem. Well, I went to wash those towels with a few other things and all of a sudden water starts pouring out from under the washer with soap suds. I'm thinking at this point this is not a good thing. I used every single dry towel I had to clean up this mess. I look in the back and my outflow hose had come off. Now, I'm single and not repair inclined but thankfully I have a friend who is willing to drop everything (she was watching tv) at 10:00 at night to come help me. Because of being sick I'm not eating much and I don't have a lot of strength right now and there's no way that I mentally and physically could have fixed it on my own. So, she comes over- we think we fix it and it pops off again being a quite contrary machine last night. So we use a bowl to catch all the water gushing out and pour it down the sink and then I borrow a pair of pliers from my neighbor (I have every tool but that- that's going to change this week). Somehow the clamp had come loosened which had led to the hose popping off. In the midst of this I found out my floor in my kitchen is not level. It didn't flow over the whole kitchen- it flowed right under the refrigerator and the dishwasher. She ended up fixing it and we stood there while the w.m. went through a whole cycle just watching it. We think it was a combination of a year and a half of washing (and I wouldn't have thought to check the hose), the unbalanced load previously, and the unlevel floor. Needless to say, I'm watching my loads of laundry closely.
