Giving Thanks for You

Well this is a happy card with a sad "meaning" behind it. I have decided to step down from Sunshine's Dream Team. It was a hard decision to make but with the end of school activities, upcoming allergy testing, moving to Kindergarten and all that goes with that AND a bunch of training and traveling in the month of June I decided now was the time to step down. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Sunshine and will definitely be keeping an eye on her upcoming images to snag some of them for my very own. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next! For my last Sunshine post I had to go with an obvious choice. I'm so thankful to God for the friendships I have made- not only through the Sunshine Dream Team but also through stamping in general. I am not seeing it in the store right now so I am going to guess it's been "retired". But you can check out other sentiments HERE.

Mom

So, I ended up with a really long break- longer than I planned anyway. Grades are due this week so I have been playing catch-up trying to get everything done. Only 23.5 student days (YIKES) and the last month of school is already promising to be crazy! All that to say- I'm a little late on my Sunshine posting but here it is- I hope you enjoy. How Tweet!

I made this card for a few challenges- the C$C32 to use 1 ribbon, 2 buttons, and 3 punches; the color challenge over at StampTV to use yellow, black, and white; and Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge from last week. Love this cute little image- it's called Tweets and you can find him HERE. He is one of the newest images from Sunshine Stamps and I HAD to pair him with the sentiment from Nina's Heartily Yours.

I Thank My God for You!

I am trying but whew- it's been a week/weekend. I finished this card and by the time I got home from church got the picture edited and uploaded to SCS it was time to go to small group. Then I came home and was able to get on skype with my mom (and my nephew) so I am just getting a chance to post this.

A Day Late and a Dollar Short

Well, not really, but I am a day behind on my post for Sunshine Stamps. CRAZY, BUSY week and then I spent yesterday cleaning my living room.

This project was a hard one for me to make. Not because of the actual project but just the thoughts and heart/emotion that went into it. Have you ever questioned your place? Wondered where you fit in? Struggled to understand why? Tried to figure out if something was going anywhere? Let your emotions guide you instead of what you know? Well, I have been dealing with all of that and more the last couple of days. When I was looking through the Sunshine images to decide which one I wanted to use this one jumped out at me. I desperately needed the message in this verse today. I needed that reminder that I don't have to be in control (in fact, that it's better that I am not), that God loves me in spite of myself, that HE directs my path, HE knows my future- including the future of my life as a single or if I will ever find someone and get married. THAT message is what I needed today which is why I put it into a frame so that I can add it to my home decor. Thanks for looking and reading my LONG post :)

I LOVE these sentiments from Sunshine Stamps. They are easy to manipulate the size of to fit exactly what you need. This one used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge 62. Fun sketch! This is going to be short and sweet since I am so late with getting this posted!

You're Neat

I used this cute new image from Sunshine Stamps to create this fun baseball card for my nephew. I miss him like crazy and know that he will like getting his own happy mail (he's only 3). I used the sketch from Eat Sleep Stamp (sketch 71). I used the baseballs at the bottom as the bottom strip across :).

Block of Scripture

Happy Saturday morning! I'm finally back with a Sunshine post-I have been working on this off and on for a week and I finally got it finished. Back before Christmas I bought a large wooden block to use for a project, I didn't end up making it and since I am on a self-imposed spending freeze (exceptions are tutoring money and stamp sales!) I decided to use what I have. You are seeing 4 of the 6 sides of the block. The other two are still empty while I wait for more verses. You can also use this idea for the quotes to give to someone as a gift for their desk. This is not quite what I had in mind but it works :)

I LOVE quotes and verses! I especially love using them as a main focus in my papercrafting. Sunshine Stamps (logo to the right) has some great ones that are already out and some fabulous ones that will be out soon! This is one that will be coming soon!

You Make My Heart Race

Another new Sunshine Stamps image- this one is called 71 Mustang- if you click the Sunshine Stamps logo to the right ----------> it will take you to the store where you can browse all of Sunshine's images. I'll admit the guy I had a crush on in high school had this card in this color so I knew when I saw it that I had to color it this way. I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge (58). I am thinking I might use this image again and flip the image and use different colors- I am thinking orange and white with orange cardstock for the icicle punch. Just a thought- might have to see if I can put it on paper! Anyway, I decided to go for an unconventional Valentine's Day card- or just an anytime card to put in my box (see a couple of posts below).

Hee hee- this new Valentine image from Sunshine Stamps is just too cute! You can find him here: Romeo. I love the little heart just bursting out of his chest. I'm not going to be too wordy tonight because I want to get this posted. I was going to post earlier- but, well, ummmm.... I took a nap instead! I have been "snowed in" for today- probably could've gotten out but didn't want to attempt it with the ice on the roads. B Mine

Another Sunshine Stamps Valentine card. I used a sketch from last week (and I can't remember which one it is) to create this card. I used this adorable B Mine image from Sunshine Stamps and colored it with copic markers. Added it the flocked SU dsp and used the heart from {ippity}'s Devoted set. I will hopefully have another Sunshine Stamps card made early next week.

A Pizza Box for a Gift

I don't have a new Sunshine project (but I will have a special one later this week for you!).  My mojo took a vacation this weekend and I am currently taking a 15 minute break from school work to type up this post for you.  With Christmas coming and lots of little gifts that are needed, for everyone from postal workers to teachers to bus drivers to hostess gifts to.... (I think you get the idea) I thought it would be fun to look back at this pizza box I made.  It would be perfect to whip up and fill with some candy to give to someone.  You can use a Christmas image from the Sunshine Stamps store or you can use one that fits the person you are giving the gift to (for example, Barney Bus to a bus driver or a teacher).  You can find the tutorial for this pizza box over at SCS.

Some Cocoa Love

and a sketch.  Sunshine Stamps is sponsoring Day 12 of the 24 Days of Christmas over at Show and Tell Cards and Scrap Pages (the link goes to the actual challenge).  Sunshine created the sketch and asked us to use a current Christmas image to spotlight.  I chose the Cocoa Love mug and matching sentiment.  This also is another entry for the Color Throwdown to use Riding Hood Red, Pretty in Pink, Soft Sky, and Wild Wasabi.  I love this Eskimo Kisses paper and have 3 packs here at home and one more on the way :).

Warm Cocoa Hugs

As I mentioned in the previous post Sunshine Stamps is sponsoring the current MMSC challenge (MMSC30).

I have been trying to play in these but the last couple of weeks have been so chaotic and I just haven't had the opportunity again until this week. The extra challenge was to include things that fly and if you look REALLY closely at my Eskimo Kisses paper you can see snowflakes :) I just adore using this Eskimo Kisses paper- I love the designs and the colors throughout the paper pad. I got mine at LimeLIGHT. I also got my chocolate pearls there!

Sunshine's sentiments are so easy to make the focus of a card and I decided to use THIS sketch from Friday Sketchers as my starting point.  I realized after I had the card done that I didn't use an image in the square so I hope this still qualifies- either way- it's a great sketch.  You can find the Sunshine image HERE.

An Angel Gets His Wings

Sunshine's challenge for the week was to choose a Christmas sentiment and create a card or project using it and the corresponding image.  I chose Angels Wings found HERE.  I combined Sunshine's challenge with the 3D challenge over at StampTV to use Nina's gable box and create that and an ornament.  I actually filled my box with mini Kit Kat bars.  I can't have milk or dark chocolate but I can have white chocolate so I picked out all of the white chocolate ones and used the milk and dark in the box.  :)

Blast from the Past

Sooooo, today got totally crazy as did yesterday and I didn't have anytime to craft.  I'm completely exhausted and thinking about going to bed early tonight but I knew I was due for my Sunshine post.. what to do?  I decided to go back and pull out some of my favorite Sunshine Stamps cards- especially for those of you who are new to my blog or Sunshine Stamps.  I have midterms due this week and I am hoping to get a new card up in the next few days highlighting another sentiment but until then...
