Finally Found Someone

Well....not really- but it's a good introduction to the card! Welcome to the {ippity} blog hop today! Make sure you start at the {ippity} blog to see the whole list of participants. I know that we are all ready for spring and here in TN we have had a taste of it for the last 3 weeks from the 60 degree temps to the rain and tornado warnings this past week (which made for an interesting time at school with 4 year olds). Hard to believe it's March already! At the end of February was VSN over at SCS. VSN is a GREAT weekend of stamping- you have 45 minutes to complete a card based on the theme/technique given by the hostess. I actually hosted one this go around (and I am not sure if I have shown my card here or not- I was trying to go in order of the challenges so will double check). Anyway, this card was made for Ashley's challenge to use your wedding song as the basis for your card. Ummm... since I am not married I had no wedding song to use- but not to worry- there was something for us too- pick a song that we might like at our wedding. I am not a Barbra fan but I LOVE the movie The Mirror Has Two Faces. I love to watch the transformation that she makes from "ugly duckling" to "beautiful swan" and the realization that it's not about what the outside looks like- it's what is in the heart.

Whew- sorry this is becoming so wordy- almost done- I promise! My favorite song in the movie (well one of them) is found at the end where her husband (who did not marry for love) realizes how much he loves her and- well- here's the YouTube video: I Finally Found Someone

My card is based on that song and the realization that sometimes life takes unexpected turns and that really- the best things are worth waiting for- so in this season of my singleness- I will wait with hope and great expectations!

Recipe:
Stamps- {ippity} The Simple Things
Paper- Tangerine Tango (could be Pumpkin Pie), black, Basic Grey, white
Ink- Tangerine Tango (could be pumpkin pie), black
Accessories- dimensionals

*side note- This was not my original plan for this card- but then I realized that if I wanted to put this in my "someday box" then I needed to make it a bit more masculine. Enjoy!
